A Hero’s Story

Almost everyone born in America in the past 50 years has a vested interest in this project.

We all have fathers, sometimes fathers and mothers, or grandfathers and grandmothers, who fought or served during World War 2.

Over 400,000 of them died in the conflict, died protecting our freedom from fascism trying to rule the world.

As is true of the courageous people fighting Russian invaders in Ukraine today, Europeans and Asians fought the aggressors of Germany and Japan who invaded their countries in the 1940s.

But America was not directly at risk. Our country had not been invaded.

Americans fought for the freedom of other nations and their people, and gave their lives to that purpose.

It’s why they are universally recognized as The Greatest Generation.

So finding and sharing the stories of these ordinary citizens who made a sacrifice difficult to imagine in our self-centered world today, is a noble task.

Maybe you can help?
