You Could Be That Person

 

He’s a really good writer, one of the reasons I subscribed to the New York Times for so many years.

And he has a lot to listen to in this short talk, but if you do nothing else, pay attention to the final 3 minutes or so…

That person sleeping under a bridge with all his life’s accumulated possessions contained in one grocery cart…

That person begging for help at the stop light…

That person being chased by masked ICE agents…

That person risking his/her life to get a bit of food for their children in Gaza…

That person fighting for his country’s survival and independence from Russian tyranny in Ukraine…

That person with AIDS in Africa hoping for compassion and help, for life-saving medicine…

I could be that person.

It always starts there.
