…
I found this so meaningful, I hoped you would too…

Dear Friends,
Even as most of us are now focused on the multitude of festivities marking these last days of the calendar year, let us not forget Mother Nature’s greater – and most humbling – influence which, I believe, in many ways underpins all of this.
You see, today is Winter Solstice, the darkest, shortest day of the year in the Northern hemisphere. After today our daily allotment of sunlight increases, no matter how imperceptible it may feel to us.
As our tiny blue-green island-Earth spins away in the incomprehensible vastness of it All, awareness of how sub-infinitesimal we actually are is possibly the healthiest comprehension I can think of at times like these when madness abounds.
I don’t mean to be unduly dour on the eve of hopefully joyous holidays for many of us, but upon the occasions of these celestial events, I tend to remember how profoundly strange a species we are insofar as how terribly we all too often treat each other here on this, our lifeboat planet.

Solstice
In the past few years, it seems as though a darker darkness has begun to envelop us, a darkness of soul and spirit that encroaches upon and erodes the very essence of what this season of warm and loving festivities – of humanity itself – is supposedly all about. Like many of us of late, I have been giving a great deal of thought to the age old – and present – struggle between forces of light and darkness.
Just the other day my daughter sent me the following from the Chinese Zodiac, and it instantly made perfect sense to me on a very personal level. I cannot help but hope with all my heart that it will apply on the much larger stage of all humankind. Soon.
2025: Year of The Snake – You shed, released and cleared space. What was heavy and fake fell away. What was real remained.
2026: Year of The Horse – You move and rise with confidence. Doors Open. Momentum returns. You’re finally walking in the direction that feels right.

So, dear Friends, today we begin our annual axial tilt back toward the sun, back into more and more light from 93 million miles afar. Let us hope that comparably great temporal forces will tilt humankind back into a Light that will better fill our lives with all the goodness, compassion and beauty that every single human being was born deserving.
Let each of us be part of that force.
One last image to share, this one also from my beloved daughter; my beloved granddaughter, Ramona, the night after Halloween. Sitting on her front door step, gazing up at that night’s full moon….I see an illuminated little face, an exquisite little human, filled with wonder and innocence. This, to me, is an ultimate image of hope….of the force.

Sandee joins me in wishing you and yours wonderful holidays….and here’s wishing all of us safe travels as we move forward – walking in the direction that feels right – forward, into more Light.
yours,
Peter
p.s. Sandee reminds me to point out that all of the various special offers which are extended on our site’s End Of Year page, are good until year’s end.
