The impact of Ira Glass on our business

 

We began this work week with Ira, and we finish it with him.

Boy, he’s done good work, hasn’t he.

He seems to have always understood the power of narrative storytelling, and he is certainly responsible for its revival on radio, both in America and abroad.

You could almost credit Mr. Glass with creating demand for podcasts, before there were podcasts.

This American Life continues to surprise and delight those of us who listen to NPR for it.

I realize most commercial radio stations will not, can not, devote this much time to telling someone’s story.
