I’ve seen insecure managers and programmers sabotage top talent because they have the temerity to question decisions.
I’ve seen other, more secure managers and programmers, understand that the talent just wants to win and expects everyone else to be as dedicated and self-critical as they are.
What this guy’s talking about is different, genuinely toxic behavior inside and outside the building.
I’ve seen that too, and I have to agree: when it reaches that point, when your talent is creating havoc inside the building and disparaging your station, and listeners themselves, outside the building, you’ve got to cut the cord.
