A reminder…

A few years ago, I was in Paris, working, when Shannon called.

Chad was in a crisis at school, and I was thousands of miles away.

I won’t go into the details. I’ll just tell you that Shannon faced down the parent of a bully, as well as the administration of the school.

She was there when she was needed.

That’s the hard part of parenting.

It’s easy to be there when it’s convenient for you.

But how many times do you make everything else wait — work, Facebook, friends, fatigue — because you can see your child needs you now?
