The Greatest Night



Sometimes I think most radio morning shows are just like this:

No one is happy all the time.

No one is successful all the time.

No one can blithely ignore terrible illness, divorce, death, failure…

and by pretending to do so, we’ve built a wall between us and our listeners.

I’m not saying you should make me cry or bring me down every day.

I am saying the more vulnerable you are with your listener, the more apt she is to want to listen to you every day.

No one has ever lost listeners because they’re too real, too human and compassionate.
