The Future’s So Bright

Get out the shades.

The future of radio is brighter than a lot of people think. It is still such a local medium that covers everything from the Friday night football games to the Sunday church services and city council meetings. Especially during the pandemic, one of the things that I have come to appreciate even more – and I’m sure many millions of Americans share this sentiment – is that local content matters.” – Ajit Pai, former Chairman, FCC (2016-2021)

Now if we can just get Radio’s owners to commit to live, local content 24/7…

Ahh, there’s the rub.

Money. Full 24/7 staffing will lower profits at first. That will affect their stock bonuses.

But it’s the way forward.

The only way if we hope to stay ubiquitous and relevant.

If we want to remain necessary for listeners.
