The Best Political Ad Ever Made

There are still a few months left in his Presidency, but tonight’s speech at the Democratic Convention signals the beginning of the end of Joe Biden’s political career.

No one is perfect, but it would be useful to remember the state of our nation and our world, when Biden became President.

We lost at least half a million Americans in 2020, that first year of Covid. We had a President at that time telling us we could possibly inject bleach and somehow shine bright lights into our lungs to kill the virus.

American states were pitted against each other trying to find help for their sick and dying citizens, which never came from that President. Bodies were stacked inside refrigerated trucks.

In June of 2020, just a few months after the first confirmed Covid case in America, our unemployment rate stood at 11.1%.

In just one week in May of 2020, over three million Americans applied for unemployment insurance.

National debt incurred by years in office increased more under Trump than any other President in our history, nearly $8 TRILLION dollars in just 4 years.

And then, of course, there was the armed insurrection, in which 9 people died, when Trump refused to admit he lost the election, becoming the first American president in history to attempt to overthrow the legally elected government.

Trump filed over 60 federal lawsuits challenging the results of the November, 2020 election. All of them failed.

There were reasons Joe Biden won that election and it wasn’t because of “fake news.”

Plus, the sheer chaos of Trump’s administration, the constant firings and insults, fawning over dictators, denigrating our intelligence services, winking and dog whistles to racists and white nationalists, and his screaming narcissism, his constant need for attention and praise.

It’s good to remember that now.

It was all so exhausting!

Which brings us to what many have called “the best political ad ever made,” back when Lindsey Graham still had a spine and a moral compass.

These aren’t my words, but I can’t say I disagree.

So I thank Joe Biden for stabilizing our nation, for calming the daily storms of ego rants and lies that was tearing our nation apart.

I think history will judge him kindly.
