3 simple techniques…
Listening to feedback isn’t always easy, but it can get easier if you know the best ways to provide feedback.
Ok, you’re meeting with your Morning Show and one of them throws out an idea that’s uhhh…not that great.
How do you respond?
- “What I like about that is…” and be specific. Then, follow up with, “What would make me like it even more is…”
- “Yes, and…” rather than “Yes, but…”
- “What would need to happen to make that idea work best?”
The whole idea is to quash instant criticism, which in many cases, makes those hearing your feedback stop listening to you.
What do you think?
What makes you most open to feedback on your ideas and performance?
