RDIO

Ok, it’s free.

There are zero commercials.

It’s called RDIO.

Here’s what I’m wondering…

If Rdio and Spotify and Pandora et.al. can find a workable business model that allows us to hear millions of songs without any commercials, how is that commercial broadcast radio can’t manage to make money — lots of money — playing 6-8 minutes of spots every hour?

Because I think if most good radio stations I hear around the world could (make that would) limit their commercials to a maximum of 8 minutes/units an hour, these pure streaming companies would all go under within a couple of years.
