It’s hopeful that we’re surviving, thriving even, in a time when the resources devoted to exclusive between-the-songs content may be at its lowest point ever, while there’s never been more easy ways to access our non-exclusive content — music.

That does not mean I think we should stroll blithely along as if we are invulnerable. We are not.

But the underlying support Radio has developed over generations means we can recover, we can still dominate, grow even, if we make the right choices moving forward.

And the first one needed is an industry-wide push for more compelling and entertaining content between songs on every station.
