Denver’s been my home most of my adult life and I was fortunate enough to program the most iconic CHR station here: KIMN. As late as 1986, this AM music station was still on top of this overcrowded radio market.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>I left KIMN to become VP of Programming for one of the first consolidated radio companies, Legacy Broadcasting, owned by Robert F.X. Sillerman, and run by Carl Hirsch.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>We were able to restore KHOW, another AM music station by hiring and promoting the best air talent in a city known for great air talent. KPKE, a CHR legend, became SUNNY, complimenting it’s AM sister’s demographic target and creating the #1-ranked duo in every adult demo 18+…
