I think it’s heartening to see campaigns like this new one for the YMCA.
It’s a reminder that there are so many ways you can really embed yourself in your local community if you simply care enough to look, and use the resources to tell the stories that surround us all.
I realize you don’t have much time for PSA’s today, as over-commercialized as Radio is, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make local involvement a cornerstone of your success.
It’s the one way you can stand apart from the biggest consolidated companies’ stations because you know they’re not thinking local. They’re not trying to be a real part of communities that are outside the Top 50 markets. Make that Top 20.
It’s good radio. It’s good business.
And it always feels great to do something good.
