Actually, I think he’s on to something here:

Being so over-scheduled you have no time to daydream isn’t wonderful, but feeling the stress of restriction, of needing to get something done, often does lead to idea generation.

My experience says to set your deadline, then walk out of your office, literally out of the building, into a park, or go take a swim, or a shower — something that quiets your active mind and lets your subconscious right brain do its work.

Ideas will begin to flow.
