“When people are  incompetent in the strategies they adopt to achieve success and satisfaction, they suffer a dual burden: Not only do they reach erroneous conclusions and make unfortunate choices, but their incompetence robs them of the ability to realize it.“

In other words, many of the guys running radio companies into the ground are clearly not competent, yet their very incompetence masks their ability to recognize their own incompetence.

And as long as they hand-pick their boards, and keep compensating them well, they probably won’t be replaced even though it is clear to all the rest of the world that they have NO idea how to make their radio stations actually grow, in audience and revenue, without cutting talent and expense.
