Happy birthday, mom…

She taught me faith, not as a Bible story, but through her remarkable life.

She taught me courage as she faced what life brought to her, and from what it took away.

She taught me to love music, with her beautiful voice, and her love of performance.

She taught me to laugh often, especially at myself.

86 today, and I’m sure glad I can celebrate with her and share this, her favorite hymn.
