Gripping
I try not to simply recommend films that are mass appeal, films everyone is watching.
I try to find the ones you haven’t heard about, the ones that are really, really good, like this one, from Iran:
This film is based on a true story of a serial killer who targeted women in Iran.
The main character won the Best Actress award at Cannes, and the film was selected as one of the best of 2022.
If you’ve never watched an Indian movie, you’re in for a treat:
The audience gave it a 94% score on Rotten Tomatoes, even with subtitles.
Another one from India, as unlike “RRR” as is possible. Watch:
The audience gave it a 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
From Poland, “EO” – a film about a donkey. No, it’s about humans, or compassion, or opening our hearts to love. I can’t describe it, which is exactly why it was one of my favorites. Another 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes:
From South Korea, the amazing “Decision To Leave”:
Share a gem you uncovered last year. I love films!
