The point is?
We are obsessed with getting the attention of listeners.
We do stunts, tell jokes, make appearances, cut promos, give away money and prizes — all so we will be noticed.
Attention has never been more precious. So many different things I could be doing other than listening to you.
Ok, you’ve got my attention.
A liner? A stale weather forecast? A live spot?
You had a chance to take my heart in your hand, to make me feel, to make me care, to make me remember, and that’s what you offered?
When you think about it that way, it’s hard to make an excuse, isn’t it?
