If you think the most important thing you can offer your employees is money, almost every scientific study in the past 20 years would refute you.
Of course, recognition of exceptional talent and exceptional work plays a huge part in employee job satisfaction.
But, at the end of the day, don’t you want to feel as if your life — a huge part of which is consumed at your job — has meaning?
What can you do to help make working at your company meaningful?
What higher purpose is served by doing the work?
If you can’t answer that question, ponder the Buckingham quote again…
