There is something very moving and poignant in these pictures of elderly animals.
My parents are still living. My mother is 86, and my father is 90.
My dog, Murphy, is 12.
Our culture doesn’t much honor the aged. We rarely even take the time to notice them, to think about them.
None of us knows when our lives will end, but as we look back, and the road behind us lengthens, we understand the journey must one day be done.
