We all love people who can make us laugh.
When you’re funny on the air, you probably get so much listener reinforcement that you can’t wait to be funny again.
Nothing wrong with that, unless in trying so hard to be funny again, you forget what made you funny before.
Trying too hard to make people laugh almost never works out well ratings wise.
Making people laugh requires set-up, timing, and a payoff, and it’s harder to do on the radio than it is standing in front of a well-lubricated crowd expecting — wanting — to laugh.
