Coaching air talent:
1. The topic: Is it interesting? Can it be compelling? Is it timely?
2. The execution: did it have a beginning, a middle and an end? Was the payoff worth the time invested in listening?
3. The reinforcement: Did you lift the best parts to promote the show in other dayparts? Did you make it easy for listeners to share online?
Your job as coach is to teach, not to police or “manage” or manipulate.
Teach the techniques of on-air success and encourage more often than you criticize.
