There Is A Place

Where I want to take you

If you have Muslim friends, they are observing Ramadan now. No food between sunrise and sunset, but then a big feast each evening when they break their fast.

It’s a celebration of family, of gratitude, of faith. In the end, we’re not so different.

We (and they) fear what we do not know, but I grew up in a Muslim nation and “they” are fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers, children, grandparents… human beings, hoping to make a better life for their kids as we hope to do for ours.

Perhaps there are Muslims in your neighborhood. Surely there is a mosque somewhere nearby. They will be pleased to introduce you to a side of Islam you don’t get to see on the evening news.

This might be the year to tear down a wall and see that for yourself.
