The DNA Journey

This is surprisingly emotional

We live in challenging times, and they may become even more challenging.

So this is a good time to tell this story:

I had the good fortune to be born American and raised overseas, in SE Asia.

Singapore and Malaysia were both multi-cultural societies when I lived there, with ethnic Malays, Indians, Chinese, Thais and Burmese all comprising significant percentages of the population.

And I have had the good fortune to work and travel extensively throughout the world as an adult.

That sort of exposure reinforces common human traits and I’m grateful I’ve had it.

Resist the impulse to demonize those who are different from you, regardless of ethnicity and religion.

It’s especially important now.
