This is true.
“I have only made this letter longer because I have not had the time to make it shorter.”
That quote, from the French mathematician and philosopher, Blaise Pascal, is almost 400 years old, but it’s as true now for you, as it was then.
When I ask you, as a Radio talent, to edit your content, to get me to the heart of what you want me to feel, it’s not because I think listeners hate spoken content.
To the contrary, I think your spoken content is the most important part of your future, and Radio’s.
And that’s why you need to spend the time necessary to make it impactful each and every time you speak.
You no longer have the luxury of winging it, of hoping you find a great punchline, or get bailed out by your co-host or a listener.
We all have too many choices for that to work now, and nothing we possess is more precious to us today in our over-media’d, distracted world than our time.
Don’t waste it.
